Indeed, the species was breeding in northern Morocco probably up until the second half of the 20th century, but since then there was very few breeding records.
In 1991, a potential breeding pair in Chefchaouen (Rif Mountains) was located, but their nesting was not verified and there was no further news about it (Fouarge 1992).
In 1995, there was another breeding record reported in Quercus 113, page 48 (cited in Thévenot et al. 2003).

As far as I know the Imperial Eagle has bred in Morocco in the past, is this correct?
